Product Description
The Universal Abdominal Binder is made with 6?, 8?, 10", or 12? wide super stretch elastic. At one end of the elastic there is a 1/8" thick X 21" long foam pad laminated (covered) with soft soothing cotton flannel. The foam pad adds rigidity, padding, and provides a non-elastic zone that helps to direct compression to the front of the abdomen. The Universal Abdominal binder is made for many purposes and conditions; however, some of the more popular include abdominal hernia reduction, post operative, postpartum, bariatric support, flattening and smoothing of the abdomen.

21 of 21 people found the following review helpful  Does what it's suppose to, May 21, 2011 I have a hernia next to my belly button, and I have to lose weight before the sawbones will cut, meaning I have to live with it for awhile. To avoid having to push my guts in every time I stand up, this works great. I wear it all day, and I have one for exercise and work.
Yes, the foam part will shrink and the velcro will scratch (wear it with the velcro on the outside). So what, cut the velcro tab down. I started with the 10 inch version and cut the whole thing to suit me, works fine. Cut it wrong? So, buy another one, they're $15, that's practically disposable.
By the way, the velcro tab is surely designed to be used sparingly. Don't unzip it unless you need to re-size the belt, step in and out of it. That way the foam part pretty much stays intact. I did find it necessary to get out the needle and thread after I cut it, just to keep the seams from unraveling, but it was no big deal.

I use it for a diastasis recti - [...] - that can be cured by exercise - stomach crunches involving pulling the solar plexus as close to the spine as possible repetitively while being supported by a support garment to keep the stomach itself in, such as this one. The 8" garment is just the right size for this condition - much better than the relatively expensive inferior belt that is provided to be used while applying the Tuppler Technique exercises.
