Lucky for me I have only had to deal with diabetic ulcers on three occasions. When a diabetic ulcer occurs it is imperative that you treat it emediately, as these ulcers seem to get worse rapidly left untreated. I purcchased the Restore Hydrocolloid Dressings 4" x 4" With Tapered Edges STERILE Box of 5 dressings from Amazon. These dressings are designed to leave on the wound from up to 3 to 5 days. They seem to draw excess water from the wound and will bring water to the surface of the dressing (which is normal). During this phase of the dressing use, it is most likely you will have to change the dressing more frequently. When you change a dressing it is good to wash the wound with mild soap and water being careful not to scrub the area, but to lightly blot the area as not to disturb the newly forming epidermal layer.
